  • Tennis Open House

  • Auditions for the JCC's Community Theater Production of "Annie"
    September 12th-15th
    The public is invited to audition for parts as singers, dancers and actors in the JCC's upcoming community theater production of the musical "Annie." The musical will be performed January 22, 23, 27, 29 and 30, 2011. Auditions will be held on the following dates and times: Girls ages 8-11 are invited to try out for the part of Annie herself on Sunday, September 12th from 11:00am-2:00pm. Open auditions for all other parts will be held on Sunday, September 12th for adults and children ages 8 and up from 2:00-5:30pm. There will also be open auditions for all parts on Tuesday, September 14th (children ages 8-17 from 4:30-7:00pm, and adults 7:00-9:00pm) and Wednesday, September 15th (children ages 8-17 from 4:30-7:00pm and adults 7:00-9:00pm). Auditions will be held in the JCC Auditorium. Auditions are on a first-come, first-served basis and should be no longer than 2 minutes. Please bring a prepared vocal or dance number.   • Annual Meeting

  • Decorate the Sukkah
    Monday, September 20th | 4:00-6:00pm
    You're invited to our annual sukkah decorating event. The sukkah is a harvest booth that we construct for the autumn festival of Sukkot. Come make decorations and hang them up, bring your Rosh Hashanah greeting cards to hang on a wall if you wish, and enjoy a snack in the sukkah. Snacks and art supplies provided. Everyone is welcome. This event is especially suitable for families with preschool or elementary school age children. FREE! Non-members welcome.     Professor Clayborn Carson will discuss Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. Carson is Professor of History at Stanford University and founding director of the Martin Luther King, Jr., Research and Education Institute. Until the end of 2009, he also served as Martin Luther King, Jr. Distinguished Professor at Morehouse College in Atlanta and as Executive Director of that institution's Morehouse King Collection.     Rebecca Newberger Goldstein will discuss Spinoza. Dr. Goldstein's books include Finding Spinoza, 36 Arguments for the Existence of God, Incompleteness, Mazel, and The Mind Body Problem. She is a Koret International Book Award winner, a National Jewish Book Award winner multiple times over, a MacArthur Fellow, and a Whiting Foundation Writer's Award winner. In 2005 she was elected to The American Academy of Arts and Sciences and in 2006 she received a Guggenheim Fellowship and a Radcliffe Fellowship.
