Inside our Forefathers' Household: One Man, Two Wives
Thursday, April 24 | 7:00 pm - 8:30pm
The book of Genesis tells us that two of our three forefathers had more than one wife or concubine at the same time. Abraham had to face the tension and animosity between Sarah and Hagar and Jacob—between his sister wives—Rachel and Leah. In this class, we will discuss the challenges and drama resulting from a multiple-wives household by examining both the relevant biblical texts as well as rabbinic and modern commentaries on the subject. Cost is $10 for the public and $8 for members. Please visit lehrhaus.org for further information and to register for this course.
