Support the APJCC

Join other APJCC members and friends in strengthening our community.

None of your gift is used for administration, overhead, or health and fitness operating expenses. 100% of your gift goes to our community-strengthening programs such as hot lunches for seniors, recreation programs for children with special needs, subsidized memberships for low-income households, and Jewish education, arts and culture.

Here are some of our current projects. If you’d like to help, click here to donate online, or contact Jon Kaplan, Development Director, at jon@svjcc.org.

Scholarships. We give subsidized APJCC memberships to more than 300 low-income households. Subsidized memberships include fitness center and pool access. They are awarded based on demonstrated financial need. We also give scholarships for APJCC Preschool to families with demonstrated financial need.

clientuploads/adults/Grandpals Shabbat.jpgPrograms for older adults. Our programs for older adults are low-cost or free, thanks to our generous donors. Monthly hot lunches with entertainment, Movie Mondays, current events discussions, mah jongg games, our Grandpals Shabbat program which brings seniors together with preschoolers, and many other APJCC programs are available to help enrich the social, educational, and Jewish lives of our older adults.

Programs for children with special needs. Our “Fun and Fitness with Friends” recreation program allows children ages 6 and up with special needs to participate in recreational activities on Sunday afternoons. Each child is paired with a volunteer buddy who helps them with the day’s activities.

Jewish Life and Learning. The APJCC's Center for Jewish Life and Learning offers a variety of classes, performances, lectures, workshops and special events.  No matter what an individual's connection to Judaism is, they can find something of interest at the Center for Jewish Life and Learning.

Cultural Arts.
The APJCC enriches the cultural life of the larger South Bay community on many levels, from the San Jose Opera Guild Lecture Series to performances in collaboration with the Irving M. Klein Competition presentation of some of the world’s finest young classical string musicians. We also hosts between six and eight art exhibitions every year featuring a diversity of mediums.
