Casino Night Benefit for the APJCC

There was something for everyone at the APJCC Casino Night Benefit on November 3rd. The JCC raised over $85,000 to support its programs and services. Nearly 300 supporters came out for an action-packed evening full of various Las Vegas style lounge acts, including a thrilling performance by The Drifters as well as an Elvis Impersonator and the Manhattan Towers Orchestra.

Guests dined on lavish buffets prepared by Café Primavera, and tried their luck in the casino with an eye on exciting prizes such as a WII game system, an iPhone, flat panel TV and more.

The Live Auction was a rousing success, led by Larry Gerston alongside veteran APJCC gala night emcee Scott Budman, both of NBC11. Lucky bidders won Zamboni rides at the Shark tank, a “Meet and Greet” with future American Idol stars of 2008 and even a first pitch at an Oakland A’s game.

If love was in the air, Rabbi Dana Magat caught it! Dressed as Elvis, the Rabbi whisked people into his Elvis Chapel decked out by Bloomsters. Rita and Jerry Jacobson, Kari Wolff and Dean Rossi, Ruth and Michael Fletcher and Virginia and Randy Hess were among those who renewed their vows under the Elvis-style chuppah.
