Event information: Some of the finest names in wine are coming to the JCC on Saturday, June 14th, 2008, from 6:00pm to 10:30pm, to celebrate the renaissance of fine drinking and dining at the APJCC Wine Gala. The Wine Gala includes a wine tasting, dinner, and silent and live wine auctions, as well as the opportunity to meet local winemakers.

If you'd like to learn more about wine before attending the Wine Gala tasting & auction, you can sign up to learn from Jeff Moore--wine author, connoisseur and raconteur critic--in a two-part lecture series at the JCC on Thursday, May 29th at 6:30pm and Thursday, June 5th at 6:30pm.

Cost: The Wine Gala is $90 per person and the 2-part wine lecture series is $50 per person. Tickets for both lecture series and Wine Gala are $130.

The wines for the tasting and auction hail from California and include such renowned wineries as Colorado Vineyards, Leal Vineyards, Testarosa Vineyards, Fogarty Winery, Burrell School Vineyards, Martella Vineyards, David Bruce, Soquel Vineyards, and Fortino Winery.

In addition to the impressive wine line-up, guests will be treated to a mouth-watering selection of gourmet delicacies. This dining experience from first course through dessert will dazzle all diners. Also added to the festivities will be popular instrumental big band music by Silicon Vibe.

How well do you know your different wine varietals? How refined is your palate? Test your skills at “blind tasting” and compete to win some fun prizes. Guests will taste a variety of different wines and guess what each wine is.
